This year marks a powerful moment in the life and leadership of Anthony Ray Gardner, Jr., Founder and Visionary of ARGJ Ministries Inc. Eleven years ago, Anthony received a life-altering diagnosis: throat cancer.
What could have been the end of a chapter became the beginning of something greater — a story of healing, faith, and divine purpose. When the Diagnosis Changed Everything
In 2013, Anthony and his family received the devastating news. The diagnosis was unexpected, and the emotional, physical, and spiritual toll was overwhelming. It changed daily life, disrupted routines, and brought countless questions.
Even through uncertainty and pain, Anthony and his family never gave up on their faith. They believed that God would not only heal, but keep every promise spoken over Anthony’s life.
Preserved Like Joseph
Anthony's journey closely reflects that of Joseph in the Bible. Chosen by God but betrayed, thrown into a pit, falsely accused, and imprisoned — Joseph experienced great suffering before he ever saw the fulfillment of his purpose.
Yet, behind every trial, God was preparing Joseph for elevation.
Likewise, Anthony didn’t fully understand why he had to walk through such hardship, but he remained faithful. He trusted that God was working, even in the waiting. Like Joseph, Anthony’s story shifted from the pit to the promise — and through it all, God was present.
“You intended to harm me, but God intended it for good to accomplish what is now being done…” – Genesis 50:20
The Significance of Eleven
In Scripture, the number 11 symbolizes divine alignment, spiritual awakening, and transition. It represents the space between promise and fulfillment — a reminder that God is shifting things, even when we don’t see it yet.
For Anthony, 11 years cancer-free represents a shift from surviving to thriving, and from test to testimony. It marks a new season of clarity, strength, and forward movement.
